Volunteering in Asia
As the world’s biggest and most populated continent, it’s not surprising that Asia can offer some of the best volunteering and adventure travel vacation experiences in the world. From the paddy fields of Vietnam to the ancient temples of Cambodia, from the spirituality of India to the hustle and bustle of China, Asia caters for any and all tastes.
Frontier’s South East Asia Ethical Adventure is a group adventure travel trail through Cambodia, Thailand and Vietnam. With a range of experiences including sight-seeing, adventure sports, jungle treks and partying, trail members also get the chance to help out on a volunteer project if they wish to.
In Cambodia, Frontier volunteers can help give children a better future by teaching English at a local school or orphanage while earning their TEFL certificate. In their spare time they can visit the world famous Angkor Wat temple complex, as well as plenty of other historical sites.
India offers a range of volunteering options, from helping underprivileged kids to learning yoga and Ayurveda. In China, volunteers could work at a Panda rescue centre or take up a journalism placement in one of China’s major cities. Other options include working at an elephant sanctuary or taking part in marine conservation work in Thailand.
